The black coral trout is a grouper fish from the genus Plectropomus, recognized for its distinct dark body color, ranging from dark gray to blackish-brown, with pale blue spots. As part of the Coral Trout group, which is known for premium grouper species, this fish is commonly found in the Indo-Pacific coral reefs, including the waters of Indonesia. The black coral trout typically weighs between 1 to 4 kg and can grow to a length of 40 to 70 cm.
